I worked with DARKSIDE as an art director, industrial designer and design consultant, helping shape their entire accessories line. Together, we built a product family of more than 20 items, including hookahs, mouthpieces, tongs, vases, mats and other essentials for the hookah ritual.

The first product in the line, DARKSIDE INTRO, defined the design language: clean geometry a dark and minimal character and a modern approach to a traditional industry. NEO and EVO continued this direction, expanding both the aesthetics and functionality of the series. Over time, the design became recognizable across the market, with several products gaining popularity worldwide and standing out within their category.

Below, I highlight a selection of key products from the line: the DARKSIDE INTRO, NEO, EVO, and the D-Click and D-Stick mouthpieces.

INTRO

The DARKSIDE INTRO is the first model in a new series of hookahs that reimagines traditional design. It breaks away from familiar aesthetics by introducing a modern, streamlined approach to both form and functionality. The magnetic hose attachment and click—system flask improve usability, while the uniquely shaped metal radiator grill creates a striking visual effect as smoke moves through it.

NEO

The DARKSIDE NEO was designed as the successor to the INTRO, building on its foundation while expanding the possibilities of the product line. Taller and more advanced, NEO introduces new functional and visual complexity while remaining accessible in price. The bowl is sold separately, allowing for customization without increasing overall cost, and the distinctive side airflow system creates a signature smoke pattern that sets the product apart.

NEO stays true to the principles established with the series: a balance of clean geometry, functional clarity, and modern reinterpretation of a traditional object. Every detail reflects the same design philosophy — pushing boundaries while preserving the core character of the DARKSIDE aesthetic.

EVO

The DARKSIDE EVO represents the next step in the brand's hookah lineup. While its silhouette echoes the INTRO model, EVO adds more visual depth and detail, expanding the design language established at the beginning of the series. The result is a cleaner, more expressive form that fits naturally within the DARKSIDE aesthetic.

Functionality plays an equally important role. EVO introduces a magnetic hose connector for seamless attachment, a click-system vase for faster assembly, and a built-in molasses catcher that keeps the session cleaner and more consistent. The product balances familiar shapes with new technical refinement, pushing the line forward without losing its original character.

D–CLICK

The DARKSIDE D–CLICK is a personal mouthpiece designed for everyday use and improved hygiene during hookah sessions. Compact, ergonomic, and easy to carry, it attaches to a lanyard worn around the neck, making the accessory both convenient and always within reach. Its distinctive shape provides a comfortable fit on the hose and gives the product a recognizable character within the DARKSIDE lineup.

As one of the newer additions to the series, D–CLICK focuses on simplicity, usability, and a clean physical design. It brings an extra level of comfort to the experience, making personal use cleaner and easier.

D–STICK

The DARKSIDE D–STICK is an advanced personal mouthpiece designed with an emphasis on hygiene and everyday convenience. The mouthpiece attaches magnetically to its dedicated case, which is worn on a lanyard — keeping it protected, clean, and always close at hand. This magnetic connection also adds a subtle fidget-like interaction that feels natural and satisfying in use.

The mouthpiece itself is shaped for comfort, offering an ergonomic fit and a more refined experience compared to standard personal accessories. It stays aligned with the DARKSIDE focus on practical, thoughtful improvements.
