UM Systems was founded with an idea to create devices for personal protection. UVMask is the first of its kind product with real-time active UV-C air filtration. The crowdfunding company has brought us $5 million and publications in YankoDesign, Forbes and the BBC, as well as several international awards.

In January 2020, the first reports of COVID-19 began to arrive, and that’s when we started developing this product. In 3 months, we built a prototype and launched the company on kickstarter. Throughout the year, the device was actively refined to mass production. Now UV Mask can be purchased online.

When you breathe, air passes through a Teflon-coated sapphire crystal, meanwhile 2 powerful 275 nm UV-C LEDs kill 99% of bacteria. In order to achieve these results, we simulated particle behavior on a supercomputer.
